I'm still a bit concerned about my Kak, who we've had almost 2 weeks now - he has almost recovered from being plucked - but I don't know how much he should weigh.

He's been a fairly constant 65g for the last week, but I feel that he should be putting on a bit more.

What is a normal adult weight? What about the normal weight for his age (5-6 weeks)?

Hi DancingMan,my cinnamon pied hen kakarikis top weight was 61grams just before weaning she was weighed every morning just before her feed when her crop was empty. Being a hen and a mutation also her weight wont quite be the same as a normal. Sounds like yours is doing well. You also have to remember that birds will lose weight as they are weaning to prepare for flight they can lose around fifteen percent of their body weight at this time. So long as the bird is alert and active he'll be fine.
Cheers Jenny

Thanks hilly, I guess that's somewhat reassuring.
