About 2 days ago I found a cracked egg in the bottom of the cage. Since then I checked out the place where my bird always goes to and found 3 more eggs.

This is strange though as my other bird died about 2 months back. I was told that kakarikis usually lay empty eggs sometimes, could these just be empty ones?

I had a similar problem. I have 2 females and one of them started laying eggs, the advise I got off this forum was to put a nest box in the cage. It worked! She layed all her eggs in the box and sat on them for about a month when nothing happened she lost interest, I binned the eggs the mistake I made I did not remove the nest box straight away so she laid another clutch wall . I waited another month or so and she lost interest in sitting on the eggs this time I removed the box as well. since then no eggs <v> .
