Hi there,
Well on Sinday mornign I had never heard of Kakariki...by Sunday evenign I own Piki an 11week old gorgeous kakriki, I've never even owned a bird but my wife has had a few, we thought we were gonna get a pair of love birds but fell in love with the Kak's.
Can anyone please confirm the sex of our bird, the breeder was not a kak speciallist (do everything from kaks...macows..pythins...tarantulars...)
They thought it was a cock...cinnamon pied can anyone pleas confirm this? Also when we picked him up the breeder said that they thought a small speck of food had irritated it's left eye (the breeder bathed it in water before we took it to make sure nothing was left in it, you can see in the photo that its is slightly ruffeled (he does scratch it abit but other than that he seems healthy and fine..he even let my wife tickle his chin this morning)
Anyway (waffling) any sexing/variation advice along with what to look out for in terms of keeping that eye healthy would be really appreciated.
A few days ago I wouldn't have dreamed having a bird...but I've totally fallen in love with our Kakariki.
Thanks
