Hi everybody! Im new here and very very new to Kak's. I will be getting one in two weeks and so will my sister, we have experience with birds we have about 30 but never a kak! i didnt even know what one was untill yesterday! The two we are getting will be weaned in two weeks, they are red front kak's? i think thats what you call it...I have done as much reading as i can find but there isnt much, i even went through the whole gallery here! I would love so much to me given general tips and advice and would really appreciate some of your cage pics posted as he is handraised and will be kept indoors.
What are your kaks fav foods?
How did you tame them?
How is it best to teach them to talk if they can/choose to?
What kind of toys do they like?
What birds do they get on with?
What is the minimum cage size?
Can they be housed with any other birds?
What plants/branches can i use in their cage?
P.S our kaks will be housed separetly and out all day supervised pretty much, except for sleeping and eating.
Diet wise im thinking pellets, fruit and vegies and a blend of budgie seed and parrot mix? And for treats; millet, sunflower seeds(small amount) and peanut butter :)
So many questions, i hope i get some replies, thankyou everyone!

Your birds will love gum branch's, casarina and Banksia. Have a look at what your native parrots eat. I find my birds will play with these far more than any other toys apart form a bell that my Galah likes to use to call me over with.
Thanks for that. Well i went through all the forums yesterday and then posted my question... Most of all id like to see pics of set ups so i can get an idea. Thanks
