Is it a necessity ? My birds love to cling on areas where the sun reaches, and I mean direct sunlight. Is it imprescindible to our birds ?

Like most living things, sunlight is a requirement for healthy living...
ppl get depressed in winter, plants go yellow, some reptiles/animals will hibernate etc etc I think is vitamin a or d that comes from sunlight.
High end breeders use a mixture of ultra violet, incandescent, florescent lights on timers to reproduce sunlight for indoor flights.
Short term u will get away with it, long term, your birds will loose condition, become lethargic, be prone to infections/ sickness.

By short term you mean to say that it is ok that a couple of my cages do not recieve direct sunlight due to the approaching winter. I can suppose then that there will be no long term ill effects becuse the situation will be compensated as spring comes along.

Chances are your kikes will seem and appear fine for that period, but if they get hit with worms a chill, their body resources will not be as strong. Unlike cats, dogs ,us birds can get sick and die within hours.
A few hrs each week on a warm sunny day will make a big difference.
Also keep in mind, they have been thru a molt going into winter, this uses a lot of the very little stored body resources they have, and these need building up and maintained for long term heath.
