this may be of use to those who keep kakarikis in the uk, as some of you may be aware invermectin in the uk has to be administered by a vet if your bird is suffering with mites the web site below leads you to a company that sells a product that contains invermectin, i have also seen this product in my local pet store how good it is i don't know but the shop informs me they sell a lot of this product. www.beaphar.co.uk

Yes I have used this on my little green monster and it cleared his bald spot over his eye right up, he had a few wonky old feathers too but now he has a lovely plumage and is very shiny! He eats a better diet than me too which must help!
In case u are wondering my little green monster is a kakariki!
He didn't like having the drops administered at all, in fact when he felt them on his back he freaked out and flew to the bottom of his cage where he then tried to roll on his back to wipe them off, i thought he was having a stroke or something!
He was fine within about 10 minutes but fell out with me for a day.
