hi everyone, my kakarikis started breeding in their old cage with no nest box so i built them an indoor avairy with 2 nest boxes. theyve got a choice of nesting materials & plenty of food & water at all times. they do go into the nest box a lot but theyve now been breeding for several weeks with no eggs, is this normal? do you think i might have an infertile hen? they are both last springs birds could it be that they are too young? any help is appreciated.
thanks
raven

Maybe a silly question but are you sure they are male and female?

I have a mixed avairy and 2 of the females bonded like a breeding pair. One felmale would feed and mate the other like a male, the other would sit and lay eggs doh! signlol. They were definately both females too so i know they can do this.

I have males that also like to feed eachother signlol
