Hi i have a 7yrs old kaki Cisco, and after he began to get a bit aggressive decided to get him a mate - Coco (now aprox 12months) ...Coco is currently sitting on 4 (last time I looked) eggs but I'm wondering how long before the eggs will hatch?. I've noticed that she has started to come out
of the nesting box a liitle more but can't hear any noises from inside...The eggs are approx. 5-6 weeks now.
Also once the babies are born what type of food should I be giving...I've been reading as much as I can from this site and am guessing that I just need to keep up the fresh fruit and vegi and Mum& Dad will take care of the babies...I do not wish to hand rear at this stage...Looking at the next lot of eggs to do that...
Now with food Cisco is very fussy, basically he lives on strawberries only eating the seeds on the outside, he will eat broccoli and pak choy a few a grapes and will eat apple seeds but not the apple. He loves the seeds from inside of capisciums also but basically as far as the apples, pears, oranges, and any other fruit & veg - tried silverbeet, spinach other asian greens He wont touch them (as will none of my other birds - little buggers).
Should I be getting some of top up thing eg) I have been putting vitamin stuff in there water...
I will stop here as I could talk forever about all my birds 6 is total...Thanking you in advance for any help/info you can give me. :)
Will add some photos of the family next time I'm on line.
