Hi there all!
Just a quickie..... has anyone had any danger's of wire on aviaries being too small..ie: 1/2 " x1/2" -can they get their foot thru and then caught?

....and wondered if ANY hebe is safe for our feathered friends, was considering putting heavy planters in( cos have already concreted the base wall )

kind regards

We use 17mm mesh, others use 13mm nps
plants in a flght
Well they look good for a while then they get stripped.
We have hrb planters and few scrubs on the outside along the front...the birds reach thru and keep them trimmed, then we turn the planter so they can trim them again.
Hebes are fine.

I did try and grow a few herbs along the outside of the aviary purely for their enjoyment (and mine watching!) having to turn them as you say ..but they never really lasted long..they can certainly devour them to death it seems!

like most bird lovers alittle bit of greenery is both pleasing to the eye and more forraging material for them in their concrete jungle..(quails might appreciate it too) will these be hardier ..or stripped just as quick?......am getting pretty damn excited now as the materials sh for the larger aviary shld be arriving soon! happy^

Once again, thanks for quick reply
