Recently our female kaki has been sitting in the next box more than normal. The male has been feeding her a lot recently but we haven't seen any mating or anything else 'unusual'. She does come out of the box and seems fine when shes flying around. Just recently shes spending more and more time in the box.
So i guess my question is, is this normal behavior before e.g. laying an egg? Or is this a sign that something might be wrong with her and she's sulking in the next box?
Hi Manders,
..Just to say my female did this also..and you start to think somethings up when days will go by and she hasn't eaten..alls well though.
Turns out she was practicing and actually went through the motions three other time laying loads of eggs... however although she was near ready, the Male was too young and eventually I removed the box so she didn't ware herself out..
It was returned several months later and heypresto!...babies :D
