Just wondering if anybody has one of those cages with the metal seed catcher around the bottom of the cage and does it stop a lot of the mess?

hi!

what works best with kakariki is any kind of deep plastic box or bowl, so when they dig, seed don't go all over the place.
But indeed those "flaps", seed catchers or w/e indeed help.

cheers/ Pablo

so... finally you made them work?
plastic is ok for kakariki, they are not very dstructive.
but the easiest solution is using very deep containers, and also probably cheaper

good luck
