Sorry to read about your loss. Im afraid i would do the same thing as you did looby if any of my birds got hurt. I couldn't cull them myself but if it had to be done i know my other half would do it for me. We have the same problem there isnt any local avian vets to us, the nearest one is over an hour away. Our local vets just will just put any bird down. My friend had an african grey that was off his feet, wouldnt eat but was drinking. They took her to the vet and they wanted to put her down. My friend said no and took her home. 7 years later the same grey has had several clutches of eggs and is now going strong.

This is just one area where belonging to the local avaian society pays off.
