Hi Danny,

..lovely lil'bird btw, and no, females dont talk but are inclined to 'babble'.
Mind you there are some ppl who's males CHOOSE not to talk either.

(I must talk constantly, as all my males talk and they're aviary bred?? )

Hi!

I keep on thinking it's a young female looking at the pics, but it's not 100% guaranteed.
I'm only good and reliable at sexing them when I have a male next to a female signlol

Cheers / Pablo

Well either way she/he started making some wierd and wacky noises when I say hello I get a response of a weird chirp that's sound a little like hello but I think that's just me hoping and she/he is trying to copy a wolf whistle that my cockatiel does I suppose that's what u get when u have three cockatiels (not in same cage)

Hi Danny

A tricky pick, another picture straight on at beak level would help.
I've been proved wrong with some of my birds in the past!.
But as a rough pick, I'd say 60% Male/ 40% Female....so I'm leaning over the fence but still on it!.

Cheers

That beak is just the shape could be either ..nearly..im more confident 70% and if has a sort of danty nature and appearance make it 90% male

And while at it lets see what everyone can do with the NZ Forest and Bird society Bird of the yr this yr..hasnt rated well in previous yrs.
http://www.forestandbird.org.nz/poll
Vote for kakariki is about 2/3rds of the way down the page.
Cheers
