Hello Everyone!
I have two 4 month old Kakarikis (one regular green male, and one I was told was a cinammon female).
I don't intentionally plan on breeding them (I may change my mind once they get older), but I was wondering if it would be ok for them to breed as they are different color varieties. Also, if they did breed, what type of chicks would I get? I would prefer to keep with the regular green as I think they are absolutely beautiful, but Kakarikis are really hard to come by here, so I had a small selection to pick from. I could have had two greens, but then they would have been from the same clutch, and I certainly dont want to risk any sort of inbreeding.
What is everyones thoughts on this? Is it ok to breed different color strains together or would this be ruining the breed? If I do plan to let them breed, I want to make sure its done responsibly.
