Hi,
We have kept Kakis for about 6 years and bought a breeding pair last October. I found the forum very useful when they started to breed: thanks for all of the posts! They have a chick who is now nearly 4 months old and dad has just stopped feeding him recently. Mum has eggs again, but both mum and dad have started to be very aggressive towards the baby. Is this normal? We would like to keep the baby, but won't if he keeps getting attacked. We keep our birds indoors with the cage door open all of the time.
Thanks!
Monty

yes and no, depends on how big the flight is how many nesting boxes etc
And not just kakariki, most parrot species get terroritial around their nesting boxes.
The problem is not only the bird on the recieving end, but also mum spends too much time distracted off the eggs.

Keep? just keep your best breeding birds...
We have 3 pairs, that have been breeding near non stop for 3 yrs
Each pair has now produced over 100 healthy weaned adults....PLUS there is currently another 19 chicks, Plus one hen is sitting again.
