Well, what I have been praying for has finally happened.
An egg. w3c A tiny little jewel. A sparkle in the night. ( I digress )

But what about mom? Of the texts I've read, no one has indicated any special need by the hen during this period. Human's need pampering... do Kak's. I'm doing anything I can think of... changing water a little more often, fresh fruits and Veggies, selection of good seed and pellets, vitamins. I don't check the nest unless she is out ( for now... later I'll knock b4 I enter ) I now am trying to keep most of the other birds away from her cage.
Pop enters once in awhile angel ... don't know what they are doing, but there is no ruckus. I drop little tidbits down for her from time to time, and remove any excess when I check the nest daily( rarely anything there ).
Outside of helping her brood ( poor eggs.... ) Am I forgetting anything? Any advice for a nervous newbie? ( having human kids didn't seem this complicted signlol )

Leave it up to them
Kakariki have been doing this for several 100,000 yrs now, they are pretty good at it..in fact better than most signlol
Don't drop stuff in the nest...just make a good variety available as normal, sit back , watch, and enjoy.

PS u rem those wheels a while back, our birds still love them...I have an old wheel barrow wheel, going to make a BIG one with new roller bearings thumb

Wolf,
It sounds like you have the situation well under control. Once the hen starts to lay we try to limit the amount of "inspections". We usually check once a week if the hen is out but otherwise we leave well alone. This has resulted in higher hatching rates.
Make sure you keep the calcium levels up as the hen will need this whilst laying her eggs. Now would also be a good time to add some "live" food to their daily routine. We give our breeding pairs meal worms when their are eggs/chicks in the nest.
