After a long 2y search i finally found a place that sold kakariki's and i bought a female one for my male

Yellow with red forehead and extremly cute

Now im just wondering, its been about 2-3h since i brought her home, she hasnt eaten yet. Is it normal?

The Birds tend to feed more at dawn and before dusk unless have chicks.
The bird unless very hungry will settle in, get familar with the new sorounding 1st.

got the normal food that i bought at the very same store. Have been using it with my other kakariki without problems

It might be because of the weather? In sweden it gets really dark really early in the year

I guess i'll wait and see.

Earlier my other bird was getting close to her trying to feed her, dont know if she actually accepted it

Return the bird...
There are many threads about poor condition birds, heart ache etc....and recommendations as to choosing a bird
Bright eyes
Stands straight
Alert
Feathers in good condition and have a sheen to them.
Take the time out to watch the birds, look for those who feed, prune and interact with the other birds.....Then choose...

Does she fill ALL the above criteria?
