Diff between Male and Female
Male is larger of the 2.
Male has rounder head and broad/larger beak.
It is sometimes difficult if the males is undersized, in particular in mutations.

These are the best I have seen to illustrate the sexes
Show both beak and head shape

Would you mind if we used these on the site here as a special thread and maybe in the gallery also?
Or you could do it as a new special reference thread.

My tip:

Stay kalm and thake the time.
If you can bring him to come closer with sunflower seeds or something else.,you can make a photo .
Or load the picture on the pc and modify it.
Some birds will come and other will never come.
Every bird has his own karakter Think .

At what age can you tell the difference??

I'm hand rearing 2 chicks at the moment, the younger of the 2 ( by 5 days) has a much bigger beak than its older sibling and seems as if its going to be a bigger bird..

PS there only 3 weeks old
