Awhile ago I rescued Fonzie, a male Kak. I found Nico for him a few months later. They bonded right away and laid 5 eggs. Two hatched. one lived. Cricket is now anout 2 months old and suddenly I noticed Nico began laying eggs again. Fonzie sits on them more than Nico. Is this ok that they have eggs again, Cricket is not even out of the nest. I am worried that Cricket is healthy and not being neglected. Is he a good size for 7 weeks. I see other birds like conures on the net that have full feathers in 6 weeks. Should I begin feeding Cricket? Can anyone tell what sex Cricket is plz?
I am glad I found this forum, sorry to introduce myself at the same time as asking so many questions.
I am Lori from Toronto, middleaged but frrl like a kid again since Fonzie came into my life.

I think Cricket is plucked by one of his parrents. At this age he should be independent. I would recommend to remove him from the nest because he will damage the eggs due to his body warmth.

What do I do after I take him out of the nest! Please tell me how to care for him I have never had anything but wild rescues. My Bourkes came as a family rescue. I am afraid for Cricket now.
Please help, how do I proceed.
I bought handfeeding formula in case a couple of days ago on intuition. I have never cared for a baby bird.
ty for answering. _________________ Imagine
I took Cricket out of the nest. I tried to feed him and at first he was terrified then began to eat. A few hours later I gave Cricket a few more drops of food. Then I put food and water in the box. After a little while he began to feed himself. I think I saw him take a drink of water also. He is eating away at his seed bowl. ( i do not know the sex maybe a she )
I am going to leave Cricket alone now to feed and rest. I think time is what Cricket needs now. And yep mama plucked him bald. I hope Cricket recovers and gets fethers. Cricket runs from me so I will watch carefully and let him/her rest.

Cricket is doing fantastic. I can see her new feathers coming in. She perches now and likes her ladder and swing. She feeds herself and has gotten stronger every day. I think she is going to be ok. Thanks for the reply and the suggestion. it worked.
Nico and Fonzie are totally absorbed with their new eggs and are past missing Cricket, Cricket misses them though and knows they are close to her cage. It helps that she likes her cage and toys.
TY
