I'm not 100 % sure whether it is a male or female by judging the pics.

When you see the bird is dancing you can be sure it is a male. The dance can be a part of the courtship but also when he gets bored.
He nods, accompanied by clicking sounds and wows,balances from one feet to the other and back, makes a few steps to the left and to the right. During courtship he moves, by doing the latter, closer to his partner.
This partner can also be imagined.

The only moment a female dances is when she invites to mate. She spins round almost in slow motion.

By the way, I know of 2 other mutations in yellow crown. Recessive Blackeyed clear yellow and Cinnamon. Whether the Cinnamon is a transmutation, I don't know.
