nice line from a favourite cure song.

Anyhow...

Steptoe wanted me to announce my departure onto lofty scientific endeavours which at this stage seems to encompass me being left on and island to screw things up and learn what NOT to do.

I will be away on and off all summer, but for thye most part gone...but I will keep track of the kakariki things on my side of the fence and let everyone know of any interesting updates. Heaps of ideas planned for documentation on kakariki so everyone has a base level scientific understanding.

I met A the other day, (we have chatted for a few yrs and never met)
He dropped in for a coffee after a hard days work chasing a virgin rat on some island in the Hauriki Gulf.
Its the 1st time I have seen an 'Island' rat..they ARE diff to the ones we have in the city, very brown better looking and not as agressive.
A is not like many 'Acedemics' I have met, he is of good light hearted humour and pretty down to earth AND he doesnt get too techinical when explaining things Applause .His photos dont do him justice...he looks every bit of the part signlol d'oh!
Good guy.
After an hr or so A had to leave, play with a few sticks or something... cool
Then next morning hes off to some remote place, just a bit of a shack to stay in for a few weeks/ months (what ever signlol). Studing the habits /movements of this virgin rat running around in the wild wondering why holes have got smaller cause it has this havasack straped on with transmitters, GPS, radar, cell phone etc Liar :P
Im sure Banks enjoyed, his Endevours to, But the Cooking wouldnt have been as good.
So after u come back, made some rude comment to the above. u can post a bit of a story about the trip.
Safe trip...and if it blows up, its there to break the routine, make the best of it.
