we have recently had a new front door fitted and i was wondering if it would be safe to give my old keys to my birds to play with would they be made from zinc/lead or anything that would be harmfull to them

I don't know what keys are made from but where there is any doubt - don't give it to them.

Some of the more uptodate parrot books are dead against giving keys to birds to play with due to possible toxic coatings like zinc, so rather don't.
