Hello all, im quite new to having Kakarikis Think and at the moment i have a pair , who have 4 chicks all doing well. 3 eggs to go.
Anyone in the UK wants some young Kaks ...well they will need new homes.

Anyway, my question is, can Kaks live happy with any other species of birds in an Avairy? and if so what type would anyone reccomend?

thanks in advance

Not love birds..
Kings, Crimson, burkes, finches, quial..most birds that a socialble.
If a nest box is introduced, as with most birds, terriortial problems can arise.

I have recently bought a princess parrot into my home.....and while my birds are not in the same cage....the kakarikis both seem to really like him and when out will forage on the ground with him......I have heard somewhere rosellas arent a good mix.......but not 100% i think you could happily keep them with most other grass type parrots......but not in a breeding situation

Thanks for the replys. I dont intent to breed, its just finding out what lives happy with what, and i like the idea of the princess parrots. Are they easy to keep, or at least as easy as Kak's?

Ive only had Budgies untill now, but i love the Kaks they are such fun to have around. Truth is im debating about having an avairy, so thats why the questions.

Princesses are pretty similar to keep as the kakarikkis...... fresh food every day and be careful of worms as they like to go to ground.......but they are lovely and very active.....Not as active as the kaks though
