| i have 2 pairs both breeding i was just woundering do they share nest boxs as for the last couple of days there has been both females in th nest box both sitting on eggs and tthen they swap with the males are they both sitting or are they shareing the responsability of the eggs in there. |

Hey kristina, I have about a dozen breeding pairs of tiels and have never had any of them sharing nesting boxes. You may come into some problems later on in regards to which chick belongs to which parent? Not only that it could become extremely crowded in there too,what with all the chicks and two parents as well. My best advice would be to put in another nest box (not too far away from the one that they are in) and separate the pairs.First start by placing a few eggs at a time (warmest part of the day) and see if the male follows them. If he doesn't then wait until the chicks hatch and then separate the chicks. The parents should come to the call of a hungry chick.

| Forgot to mention, they are both sitting on their eggs. The male will generally sit on the eggs during the day while the hens generally take the night shift. You may find all four parents will be surrogates to all the chicks as they cant tell which chick is theirs.Either way they are going to be well looked after by both pairs. |

| just an update cockatiels have hatched there are still 5 eggs to go but i have one baby who is enormous it stands about 10cm foot to head and has its eyes open and feathers starting to grow only on wings he hatched on the 24 june so is he complete cockatiel.cross bred with the the kak as the mum was mating with both kak and tiels |

| hello no change with the tiel babys but the one is still massive mum wont let me anywhere near the box at the moment have tryed to get pics but i keep getting bitten by mum she wont come off the nest so maybe the rest are hatching let you know soon ill try to get pics for you all. |

| Dear Kristina, I am new here but I have had a three some of two handreared females and a male in the cage alone totally take care and raise a nest of thirteen babies- all lived. I watched all of them take turns feeding and sitting with them. so yes I am sure, positively sure they can and will. |

| hi everyone as i cant get a pic at the mo ill discribe the new baby to you it now is about 12cm foot to head it had yellow hair down its back which is now turning in to grey and green feathers it has a very large white beak pink feet and hisses alot im still not sure what it is as i have never had a tiel baby male kak goes in and feeds both mum and baby but so does the tiel |

| i have two lots of chicks some older then others but the one which im no sure about is the one im worried about he doesnt look very happy anymore i dont think mum has been feeding him he looks all skinny and not very active anymore wat should i do should i leave him and risk lossing him or bring him in doors as im planning to bring in another tiel baby which i want to tame they are about the same age maybe the all tiel baby a little older can some one help me as i dont want to loss any of them or when i take the tiel baby put him in its place would that work. |

| he was doing fine so eating on his own and flying not very well but i took him back i the avery and his dad showed him how to do it propaly and because he was tame he wasnt warry of me like the other and as i was leaving the avery he discided to come two and sat on the roof of the house talking to me he started to come down when a piguin chased him off i havent seen him since. |
