Just an update, the Cockatiel I had my tragedy with, the one with the aquarium broder etc, has hatched out a new nest of eggs. This is almost exactly a month ago. I didn't look back at my previous post about her yet but you suggested to place the partitions up to keep her nest box from being disturbed. I am trying very hard not to go near. I hear the babies feeding and she is eating everything in site (so she can feed) Her mate is also feeding. She also used the pan of water to wet her tummy feathers for humidity-- so fingers crossed..
here we go again!, Kathy

I have walked on egg shells worrying about every little thing and finally yesterday after a big windstorm on Father's Day Sunday- (where the was so much noise- I knew they were disturbed). The three carers were out every feeding time eating and eating but even if I was out around their aviary for over an hour or so I heard nothing in their boxes. I was getting more upset and finally I took the box down and peeked in. She had three beautiful big babies and one slightly smaller, all looking great. I couldn't believe it. I gained enough courage to look in the box next door, (the one that never had babies before) and there were 2 one week old babies sitting very on their own. I put their boxes back of course and praised their parents. What a relief. I still have a way to go but this is good, yes?

Wink

Thanks Karen, finally, but guess what- I think I found the root of the problems I have been having. and it is all out war here now. first I thought it was disturbances, myself, the weather, cats..whatever, now I checked the other cages large nest boxes and I found a great big rat- Yuck... but it explains so much.
no babies, eggs on the floor..
war . Twisted Evil
