this is the first time my birds have laid eggs at last look she was sitting on 7 eggs. I first discovered these eggs 23 days ago when will they hatch or are they "empty eggs"

w3c to the site, you don't mention whether you have a male and female so i assume you do, the way to tell is to take hold of one of the eggs and shine a torch behind it if it is clear it is infertile, but seeing as she has been sat for 23 days just let nature take its course if they are infertile she will get bored and leave the nest anyway hope this helps.

Thanks, I'm assuming its male and female. I was told this by the bird auction I brought them from they were sold as a pair, also one has larger beak than the other, I hope this means I have a male and female. Basically it is only the one bird that sits on the nest I never see the male go in the box except at night, during the day the female comes out and feeds and suns briefly then goes back to the nest she will do this a couple of times a day and when she's out no ones on the eggs basically I catch her every now and then but when I come out and spot her generally she will go back in within 5 or so mins. I'm a bit wary of checking an egg in case I disturb her so I guess I will just have to wait until they hatch or she gets bored. I was just concerned because she just seemed to be laying more eggs, when originally after about 10 days it was only 5 eggs and that didn't increase for over a week then suddenly last checked there were 7 eggs.
Thanks for your advice anyway. Anxious
