hi,i have a cinnamon kakariki named oscar (because we thought it was a boy until she laid an egg in the water bowl). She's about 15 or 16 months old and she sits on my shoulder when i walk around the house, and comes when i call her. But i have a littleproblem. She does this thing, i dont know if its bad or not. I'll go to get her out or i'll just be sitting at the bench next to her and i'll hear quiet chirping like "eeeep eep eeeeep eeep" and she'll get a kind of death grip on her perch or somthing and sit with her rear and tail up in th air, crouch her legs, face, the rest of her body down except for her head which she points up as well and does the chirpy sound, she does it for ages, sometimes i have to try undo the grip so i can get her out, then when she's out she does it in my hand for a few minutes then comes fine. Recently i went away to queensland for two weeks and had to leave oscar at home with someone and she apparently didnt do it once (but they weren't really looking at her as much either), but as soon as i walked in the door after two weeks she chirped very loud and went into the deathgrip thing. Is that just excitment or is it something to worry about, could you please help?[/b]

Shocked Laughing

Thanks for that .

Is it okay that she does it or should i be doing something to stop her from doing it. I had a problem just after she started laying eggs because she kept laying them constantly. I found out from reading up on it that it was a big problem and that she was laying way too many eggs, and I had to do all sorts of stuff to discourage her from laying eggs, like getting rid of her nice dark shoe-box hidey-hole and stuff like that. She stopped that and now hasn't laid an egg for 6 or 7 months now. So now is it a problem what she is doing now?

I am really appreciating the help.
