I'm not too much in favor of "cooking" for the birds, but sometimes I'll feed them certain leftovers like bones and some meat, rice and pasta.
If you run a quick search for "meat" "bones" you'll find plenty of posts mainly by Steps. I got the idea from him. He feeds chicken bones, etc... quite often.
I read not long ago as well at vogelarena.com that a breeder feeds his parrots chicken necks. I'm not sure about cholesterol content, etc... but probably they are cheap to buy.
I was a bit skeptical when I read Steps about feeding meat etc... then finally tried myself and they feast on meat.
Pretty amazing how clean they leave any bones.

Im against cooked rice/pastta
Never seen birds in the wild process their food, and lets face it pasta is a flour ground ,all the good stuff from the husks taken out then bleached in chemical till white and all the goodness taken out,
Why BUY specual 'natura'l foods?
There is enough meat, gibblets/ bones/ marrow/ cartliage on one chicken carcass for 30 birds, and if the bones are chopped up they can get at the marrow.
Scraps"
Well over 3/4 of their veggies are the scapes from our own food prearation
Stems of cali, broccolli, cabbage leaves, pumkin skins and seeds, potatoe peelings, silver beet and beetroot stems, the core of cabbage and letice, and leftover saids, celary tops....etc all chopped up to 1/2 pea size.
Buy:
We dont sprout seed, rather a salid pack of alfa/mustard seed alternated with mung....1/3 of a beetroot, 3 or 4 cellary sticks, 1/2 a capsicum including core and seeds, 2 medium sized carrots... Adain all choppe up to 1/2 pea size plus 1/3 kg of frozen peas and sweet corns
(much of this comes out of our veggie garden so free seasonally)
Free:
Nastersin stems flowers leaves and seeds, milk thistle (puha) danilion flowers and leaves, rose hips (unsprayed), mint , basel, rosemary, sage all weeds in the garden...again all chopped up 1/2 pea size
Once chopped up this is just over 1/2 the total volume of the mix
This feeds 30 to 40 parrots for 3 to 5 days approx 3/4 handfull 2x a day for 2 birds... and a couple cat biskets per bird every couple days.
Use a very sharp carving knife to chop veggies...a blunt knife bruses them and they dont last as long in the fridge.
The last 1 or 2 feeds out of the container has a couple caps of apple cider vinigar added.
Dont mix fruit and meat with the veggies it sortens the storage life in the fridge.
Watch how much is left on the floors, so not to much waste, clean out poo, waste once a fortnight, and use as fertilzer around roses and fruit tress.
13 flights, 30/40 parrots about 12 to 15L including sand and stuff racked off floors.
A fortnight for 30/40 parrots veggies about 12 to 15kg, seed 5 to 6 L plus fruit and meat bones.
NOTE: If you have children dont be suprised if you go thru a lot more of the veggie mix....turns out , since outr chilren have now left home, they would secretly make salid sandwiiches or just gab a hand full for a quick snack _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
