I have made a post earlier saying that I am considering getting a buddy (As well as a new pet) for our kakariki. Earlier, it was either another girl kakariki, or a cockatiel boy. But now I am considering an indian ringneck- do they get along well with kakarikis? If yes, can they live in the same cage (if it is large enough), or should they be kept separate?
Thanks
I don't think so , it a bad combination with a indian ringneck.
I ges the kakariki wil not survive in the same cage, ringnecks are more agressive. The same if you put a rosella bird in it, don't look surprised if you find only feathers from the kakariki, the rest is eaten up.
P.s. And if you have a ringneck in another cage, ringnecks aren't good birds for in a cage, even then you must have earplugss for the yelling noise, man they can screaming terrible. _________________ http://kakarikiwereld.weebly.com/
If you want a big bird for indoors (or even outdoors so as not to upset neighbours) go with Kings and Crimson wings...
They are by far quieter..bit more volume than a kakariki and a much more pleasant sound than a screaming black back gull down a microphone.
Ideally with larger birds they are not a good idea to mix in 1 cage indoors...seaparate cages
We have a couple kakariki breeding on the top of the fridge at the moment a king house parrot with is own cage (which is always open , even when on holiday) next to them. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
I guess I'll stick with getting a cockatiel- since my family and I had experiencec with them before. Thanks for the advice!
The aviary I am looking to visit does not have any Kings, but I believe they have some Crimson rosellas (if those are the ones that you are talking about).
Thanks
