Wyndara,
I'm not sure whether those hens are sex linked Ino's. In other species the sex linked Ino retains the iris. If the sex linked Ino truly exists then there should be crossing overs with the cinnamon mutation(cinnamon-ino)as it is on the same chromosome pair. See the Lacewing Budgie.
I agree we should rename the Lutino Kakariki into Cinnamon Fallow. A Cockatiel breeder told me such a pseudo Ino also exist in Cockatiels and causes much of confusion.
Peter, just to clarify, maybe the pseudo INO you refer to in cockatiels is Bronze-Fallow + Cinnamon
In case of the combination of ashen-fallow + cin. the result is mostly a clearer cinnamon with red eyes, not really a "white" bird.
Now I´m a bit confused and I don´t have my references handy but I´d like to ask... is the fallow in kakariki maybe an allele of the NSL ino locus? (par-ino?)
If I´m not mistaken you told me not long ago the fallow mutation we have in kakariki is a bronze-fallow (can´t find the post right now, please correct me if I´m wrong).

Yes, that is what I believe. From observations made by Mutavi in other species the Bronze Fallow is the only Fallow with a distinct iris. Likely it applies to Kakariki as well. The Bronze Fallow is indeed an allele of the NSL Ino.
I don´t have bronze fallow cockatiels, but now that you mention it, the eye of my ashen fallows has nothing to do with lutinos and indeed they don´t have a visible iris (at least not at normal sight, I´ll pay attention next time I have to pick them up). I didn´t really notice until now.
Sorry for the off-topic but... is it possible that we are maybe breeding NSL inos in Europe without really noticing?

That is possible but going on with the Bronze Fallow theory BronzeFallowNSLino's(heteroallelomorph) would have popped up. Such a combination has a intermediar appearance and would looks somewhere in between a NSL Ino and a Bronze Fallow.
My initial thoughts were that the light faze Fallow was such a combination but to my mind this is just natural variation.
