Hi again!

I have no names for my three new kakarikis. Two males and one female. "Kaka" in Swedish is cookie so I thought about naming them "Cookie" in three different languages, but that seems a little bit... boring?

What have you named your birds?

"Pipo" is the typical parrot name in Spain.
Some people uses human names like "Paco" "Pepe"
And kiwi is a trendy name for kakariki too.

Cheers!

Napoleon...well you have ssen a fully mature male king, the red breast
And he stands proud on his perch, alloff, above all
He will not come down to you, If you want to feed him, you have to go to him.
His body language, sort of says..."yep want a bit of that"
But unlike his son Bob or any of our tame or semi tame avairy birds, or any semi tame bird I know of...wave a peanut and they are down on it in a sec, Not Napolean.. you have to take it to him.

My 2 are called Moko & Lani. Both are Maori names, as kakariki are from NZ. I picked Moko, it means tattoo, and my girls picked Lani, which means flower. :)

Moko is the chin tatoo moari ladies wore

Flower is putiputi I have no idea what lani is

tane..that doesnt really have a direct translation, maori culture thought of themselves as part of the mother nature gods and the closest translation it sort of referes to a person or identity

kofi think you mean kowhai (wh is a soft F sound)
Means yellow and is a semi deciduos tree that has sweet peas like flowers. The majority of our native tres have whate flowers, a few less have pale blue, and a handfull have yellow and red. Hence colours can also be a plant or a animal.

Maori is a very primative language so in most cases sylibles, like japanese, tend to be 2 letters

The Aussie have a cool comedian called Rove...he loves a NZ town name
Whakatane...use the info above and you will see why signlol
