Ive got 2 of these and was wondering what type of Kakariki they are, an if there mutations, have they got a breed name?

Please find attached a picture, the one at the front is called Tickle (male) and talks a lot, the one at the back is Tilly (female).

All I can tell u is the basics (we don't have mutations in NZ)
1/Mutation = A natural gene that causes a change in the colour of a species (can also be applied to size and stuff)
2/Hybrid= a cross between 2 species ...eg between the yellow and Red crown species of kakariki. This is usually seen as a mix of yellow and red feathers in the red crown. A big no-no Reds and yellows generally have to be forced to cross breed, they will not do so naturally and will not do so in a mixed aviary (unless forced)

Your birds appear to be mutations of the red crown, note the red crown and red spot behind the eyes. Which mutation I will leave to, our breeders to follow up.

Difficult to say, but I believe I can see the one in the foreground has a vissible irisring. If this is true and the eyes are red and the bird(s) has/have a pale yellow body color without a single trace of green, it/they is/are Lutino(s).

Yes, they have both visible iris rings, and they are totally yellow with no green, apart from the red on the heads and a slight bit of red towards the back underside of the wings on their main body, just above where the legs are.

Sorry to highjack your post Uncle chicken

So if they are pure yellow with and iris ring they are a lutino?
What if they have a dark black eye? (also yellow)
Did try to get a pic but as she is sitting on eggs at the moment its a bit hard.

Edit: Found an old pic of her.

When a yellow red fronted has total black eyes it's a double factor dominant pied. Probably she is split to recessive pied. The two pied genes interact in such a way the result is a complete yellow bird.
