I've left the divider in for now so they can become accustomed to each other - although they have been in there for over a week now, Bass the malehas become less handtame - is this because they are closer now?

I had a handtame male that was very sweet and cuddly, untill I added a nestbox - then he protected cage, nestbox and the female - quite fiercely!

When the breeding was over (and nestbox gone) he was back to his old sweet self

We have had serval hand tame males and females in our flights over the yrs.
All have not changed when breeding.
The females, stop, because the male is very protective, butif the female is on her own for a few days, very quickly returns to hand tame.
