WOW! Well done! I'm a new owner and a bit unsure what is what. Do you have a pair livivg together or just together for mating? My bird has been in a nest building frenzy for 2 weeks but sadly has no mate but seemed to be inviting me! Yesterday she laid an egg! We thought till then she was male! emb What should I expect now? Any advice would be w3c! :-&

She will lay infertile eggs, sit on them for 3 or 4 weeks then eventually bury and abbandon them.

Hi Everyone

I've not been able to get on the site for ages but managed this week.

Wee update on my brood...

I ended up with three fertile eggs and now have three almost 11 week old chicks that are thriving. I have two boys and one girl...still struggling with pics tho

Unfortunately i lost Ziggy (the dad) the other week, which is really sad he was my first and most favourite.

i've been really lucky, i let the parents raise them and handled them every day so they're semi-tame but very friendly.

2 are going to new homes in a couple of weeks Pray

i think the key was not to interfere, provide a good diet and routine, then let nature work her magic.

Good to hear the chicks are doing so well! Sorry to hear about Ziigy though Sad

I have to disagree with you " being lucky"

See I am convinced a big part of their succes is the way you took care of them and your decission to let the parents raise them as long as possible.
You did great! And you are selling yourself short by claiming otherwise.

WELL DONE ZiggysMum.. CONGRATS!!! <v>
