i had just the 1 chick hatch but its only a couple of months since i introduced my new male (Bruce) so i think they have done ok... im hoping its not too late in the year for another clutch _________________ May........
some guys here breed year round, Steps has hatched chicks in the coldest weeks of winter (Steps didn't hatch anything really, it was his kakarikis), and I have had no problems breeding in winter neither _________________ AD ASTRA PER ASPERA
it gets quite cold here.... they bred in the winter when they were in the house... but they have taken over my summer house now and dont have extra light in the evenings ....and i only put the heater on out there when it was snowing and freezing.... but i will see what happens _________________ May........
We had a sprinkling of snow a coupleweeks back, full on frosts..
They are out door avairies open to weather no heating....
number of eggs that hatch drop to between 3 and 5.
