Hello
Thanks pablo and may for your advice, i will keep an eye on her and see she is doing ok.
She has also started chirping and making noises!! She seems to know the place well now and knows the household noise levels..so it seems to be going alright Laughing

The floor is just the bottom of the cage with a tray underneath it..if you have any suggestions for a different floor please let me know, i have arranged the perches so she can get to the food/water then to the bottom of the cage.
What is the best type of tree branch to put in her cage??
thanks again--Aurorakak thumb

Hi,

around my grandpa's I have a number of choices for natural branches, I have used pine, eucalyptus, apple tree, etc..
I think most fruit trees (non-toxic) will do.

For the cage floor you can use a layer of sand, or wood chips. If you have the bird in a room inside home wood chips are better, sand spreads around. Then you change it every couple of days.
Some people here use newspapers, I have also read a champion budgie breeder usses newspaper for the breeding cages. If he does that, I guess it's not very dangerous.

if the bottom of the cage is a slide out sort of shelf thing you might be able to just pull it out and put sand/wood shavings in the tray underneath thats what i do with mine. if its perminently attached id say try lining it with a few layers of newspaper and put a large seed tray or a cat litter tray or similar on top of the newspaper with the sand/wood shavings in .... job done Laughing

Glad she is starting to settle in ..... keep up the good work <v> <v> <v>

Ive got a few apple trees so that would be convenient for branches, I will try find a good flooring because Ive got a slide out tray underneath so I can change the newspaper.. Though I might change it to something like woodchips if i can find some to get.
I have got a few wooden perches and a bendy rope perch, so I can fit a few branches in.. Do I leve the leaves on or take them off??
thanks guys--Aurorakak <v>
