Hi, i did have 2 hens, one we got later than the other however they got along well. Sadly one died and the other hen is left appearing very withdrawn. She is eating and drinking normally however whereas previously she would be flying and running about for hours and come on to our hand and sit on our shoulder she will now not come out of the cage. Is this normal, should we be worried?
the birds we have at home we usually notice they feel down a bit when the partner dies. Usually they start feeling better after a new partner arrives, or a couple of days/weeks later.
Then of course it's not the same when you have 5-6 birds together in the aviary or if it's just 2 in a cage, because in the latter case the bird is alone for a long time everyday.
I don't know if Steps could possibly elaborate a bit more about this. _________________ AD ASTRA PER ASPERA
