Let nature do its thing.....
What would the reaction of a human mother be if u as a strange started poking and playing with her baby in the supermarket be?
Or a lion , or tiger mother?
Eggs and chicks are not toys... espec if 1st time mother.
With later batches, once the parents have had a few batches, fully trust their environment , including u , THEN u should be able to inspect... not play.
Also playing with chicks is not advisable because this often causes dislocated hips and ligaments to drop to the wrong sides of leg bones etc.
