hi sorry if i sound abit dumb but can kakariki birds be housed together if they have the same parents but from different hatches would them breeding course any harm
Sry for the late reply.. been away then missed your post
you are basically talking about inbreeding of siblings.
Doesnt matter if same batch or not, the genetic make up is the same.
Much has to do with knowing the long term history of the parents also, and if the are related.
ppl inbreed to promote certain genetic trates.. the down side it also promotes bad trates, which is why most pedigree dogs cats horse etc now have genetic health issues.
General rulle of thumb for young siblings / cousins assuming that the parents are KNOWN to be unrelated is 2 to 3 generations then breed in new stock.
Also ANYTHING that one even suspects is defective is culled out.. and if any history then traced back thru several generations and that side of the line is then culled.
u may find it very likely with kakariki they may go thru the motions of mating etc and either produce a couple dud eggs or never produce at all
No u do not sound dumb.. the dumb ppl are those who sit down the back of the class room and snigger at those who are curious enough to ask the so called 'dumb ' question so they have things clear. These ppl go on to have good careers... the sniggers end up working for them sweeping floors _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
