It must be coming up to that terrible time of year for the NZ kake breeder to cull their healthy vibrant new generation.
I have a question;

This has been edited out by Admin...A geniune appolly and regret has been made and we see no purpose to embrass the member. We all make inosenent 'clangers' once in a while
And;
Do you do anything with the feathers or is that a no no?
NB: I don't mean to offend or troll but these are serious questions.
As to culling, unwanted birds...one cannot dispose of eggs if keeping several genetic lines viable for when Private breeders are included in conservation programs in the future, as per the Ministers intructions couple yrs ago.
It is going to happen. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'

We do not delete threads, Unless they are spammers advertising unrelated subjects, gambling and other underground illegal activities.
Thu once in a while a post/ thread mybe edited and reasons noted by Moderators/Admin.
We have lost posts in the past, twice, over a 24 hr period, due to the site being hacked and corrupted. Full backups of files and data bases are now made every 12 hrs.

Feathers,
no we do not keep them. We did once in the early days, (molted) but could not find a use for them.
Culling is a most unpleasant and upsetting task, to recover these under these cirumstances had not crossed my mind with such a heavy heart.
There would have to be a very good reason to do so, and even then.....
I dont know. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'

Market...I didnt think in the concept of selling or such.
We here dont breed or keep with any intention of profit or even recoving costs...Some how it doesnt sit well with us suppling endangered native birds for profit...maybe we are just old fashioned LOL.
I wonder if The Moari used them? Certainly any Iwi who are interested we could sort something out that way. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
