I saw these dried bugs in a birdstore i go to, being dried i did not buy them. Do you reccomend any bugs, worms etc, even if its for a change.
Would Kakariki's in captivity eat them, i guess i wont know unless i bought some, but is there any suggestions on what live food i could give them. Im in the Uk so, live food here is not easy to get hold of, unless we have anything in our gardens suitable.
I wondered if its worth taking a trip to the tackle shop?

A search (block to the left) for words like protien meat live food will bring up these subjects.

Worms, if u place them in a container, wash them, leave over night, wash again...
Kakariki do have a larger 'meat' content than most other parrots...they spend a lot of time in the wild on the forest floor, scratching for insects and grubs
