right now i have got the hang of this could anyone tell me why my bird is biting me im confused. i do what i can does she hate me. i always let here out and feed her a wide range of food what could i be doing wrong? thanks if you reply

you say she im guessing you know for sure your bird is female? ok lets say she is and she is biting you ,for starters is she biting hard as in to hurt you or is she biting to test you ? i have found in handrearing my kakas you do get all different types of personalities just like in people.
if she is deliberatly trying to hurt you ,put here strait back in the cage and move here cage to another room were there is no activity 5 minutes for the first time and going up every 5 mins untill she stops doing it (kakas are very active and a borring room isnt what they want) so just like a child being naughty gets sent to his room. i got up to 4 hours befor one of my hens got the message.you could also try saltanas as treats (only to be given when she doesnt bite whilst sitting on your hand or shoulder) but as soon as she does bite put her back in her cage and send her to her room. now if she is male i would say they make great pets but as soon as they reach sexual maturaty they test you and yes some get quiet nasty,but eventually they settle down (most of them)
but allways remember a bored bird is a unhappy bird, heaps of toys are a must with kakas ,i even have a spare box of toys so i can rotate them so they dont get borred.
