mine bites in everything thats in my house from cablewire till my own hair aslong he is happy i am happy so let them happie snappie bite your hands they will now when they hurt you. i am sure of it .just call loud And hard NO or something like AUCH STUPID BITING SHARK next time he only nibble your hands
Time to time i put my finger in between the bars while talking to them
And the male went up there and close to my finger and started to nibble on it and biting on it (didnt actually hurt that much)
Yes hes finding u not a threat...now testing if edable.
How u react depends on his future behavoir
If u pull away he will 'find' a new toy and may start to bite harder
if u move your finger as he nibbles, then touch his beak, he will realise there is no 'hurt' then starts thew fun 'sword fights' then that moved to grabbing the beak gently..even eventually lifting him up as trust devalopes.
These 'tricks' are simply devalopred from observation and action and reaction....it is the pet owner that determines +ve or -ve reactions. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'

Hi Guys,
I have just joined your site. I am trying to post a question so pls bare with me!! I have two kikis one girl and one boy. I got them from the same breeder. The girl has dissabled legs because she fell out of the nest as a chick. She is hand tamed. I picked a male for her. When they were brought home and put together they are insepparable. He loves her and feeds her etc etc. It all turns sour when I go up to the cage to talk to them or feed them. She loves me and I can take her out and cuddle her but he goes off his trolley and yells at me he bites me and tries to bite as hard as he can he thinks it's funny! I love him to death but I know he just does not want me around. Is this the case or do most boys carry on like that. He literally cackles as loud as he can in my face!! How can I make him feel relaxed. I let him out all the time and he goes back in his cage on his own. But if I sit in the room he attacks me. They are in our lounge room where they can always see us and the tv. Any suggestions??

There is a good post about taming on here. If you put 'taming' into the search box on the left it'll come up. Basically if he is going nuts just spend some time by the cage not attempting to put your hand in or even paying him much attention, take your time and once he seems happier with this then you could try just sitting with your hand slightly in the cage, reading a book or watching the telly but not looking at them.
If you do catch his eye, then squint or blink slowly, it means that you're not a threat... staring is seen as threatening. Read the taming post too and good luck! _________________
