Can someone please explain to me in the most simple way what a hybrid is and how i can tell if my bird is a hybrid?
Ive got the general idea that its something to do with the colouring and breeding but i need it explained more simply!!
Is having a hybrid a bad thing, i get the impression from your forum that it is?
Should you not breed them and is it best to steer clear when purchasing them?

Hello Tweety,

A Hybrid is a crossbreeding between 2 different species. e.g. Red fronted X yellow crown is a hybrid.
Usually this is due to ignorance of the breeder. In the gallery are some good pics to identify the different species. There is also a hybrid identification section.
