god this is a very bad period for my kakas
today hen escaped from cage while i was cleaning it...i live in a big town (rome) and i am on 3d floor
do u think there are some possibilieties she comes back?what should i do?i left the cage open,so maybe she come back expecially cause she still has some baby birds in the nest box

I found her few hours later omn a tree in the street
she was very frightened and now happy to be back home! Laughing

We have lost several kakariki over the yrs...
They never seem to go far..
Some we have caught in a live rat trap yjay has a spring door activated from a bait (food)
1 we had in an isolation cage (a new bird) so we put the dage outside wiyh food in....2nd day there she was quite happy sitting up on the perch inside.

A bird escapes....count to 10 very slowly, THEN panic in and organised manner.
Let them cone to you

Rome...thats a city I would like to see one day.

yeah PANIC,thats what she looked like when i catched her Laughing
she was so frightened that she let herself be catched so easily (usually she is an aggressive girl!)
