I suppose you mean the Fallow mutation. At present there are at least 3 types of red eyed mutations in Kakariki which are classified as Fallow. Up to now I still don't know if they are separate mutations. The trick is to pair 2 different looking types. When the outcome be normals than the parent birds are 2 different mutations. The chicks will be split to both Fallows.

So far I know of one breeder who produced Lutino's and dark Fallows out of 2 identical Fallows. The parrent birds had a colour between the Lutino and dark type of Fallow. This can imply that the darker type of Fallow is a Bronze Fallow. Bronze Fallow and Non Sex Linked Ino(Lutino) are the same genes but both have another code.

Hi Tossi,

It all depends on what your birds are split to. Yes, it is possible to breed black eyed birds, on the condition that they are split to this mutation. It is verry difficult to breed a particular color from split birds. I once breed a black eyed clear from 2 split birds. It was the only one from 28 other siblings.
Below the darker type Fallow.
