KakLuver,

I think the pied you have in Australia is the recessive, so you would have to pair 2 pied birds (cock and hen), or at least split (i.e. they have the pied code in their genes although they don't show it physically).

That's right, you need 1 recessive pied and 1 recessive or split. It took me a whle to understand all about pied, recessive, dominant, sex linked, etc, but if you google those words, you can find a lot of info.
