Hi I wonder if somebody can help me? My pair of Kaks have four chicks, the first one has just left the nest box, will it be able to feed itself straight away? How long should I leave it in the cage with its parents? Any help very much appreciated Thanks. Think

Hello Nikkik,

Dad will continue feeding the chicks. They can live independent from about the 43th day.

We wait till the iris in the eye appears before weaning, generally about 2 weeks after leaving the nest.

Thanks for your help. There are two chicks out now, trying their best to fly!! Two more to come out. Then the fun will start when we try to let the parents out for their fly and they will want to come out to. angel
