helllo, i recently bought a kak (male) as the previous people didnt want him...i have had him nearly two weeks now and he has just eaten a wosit (cheesy crisp) from my hand today! even though he is still warey and runs off if i put my hand too close!

he is around 6 months (this is what i have been told) and he doesnt talk yet..but makes his own little noises like little quiet screams and soft noises, but doesnt chatter or anything....do you think he will talk as someone said he is too old and probably wont?

Also, his beek is like a grey colour but all the pics on here theres are black at the bottom? does this mean anything?

Thank you :)

w3c Kayleigh!

Its a good sign that he's taken food from your hand already he's starting to trust you (unless the cheese got the better of him!!:)) although too much fatty junk food shld be limited.

If Your info on your little feller is correct and he is six months old he is NEVER too old..if he's chattering quietly to himself and changing his tone It'll not be long before he picks up afew words from you daily.
Just try afew simple short frases like " good boy" and "Hello pretty" ..u get the idea and repeat.
And best of all have fun with him.:)
All the best x

Kasim, my Lutino Kakariki was 8 months old I think when he started talking, so dont give up on the little guy yet.

Just talk to him, like the person above said, simple phrases like good boy, and hello, they soon pick it up.
