Hi ya there everyone i'm just wanting to see what people are using in the nest box for bedding as i have been using wood chippings bt i been told to use compost so now i dont know what to do, what do you use in yours please?
Thank you for your time
We have used Wood shavings from chainsaw, coarsr sawdust, turning from a wood turner, forest floor multch and combinations of the above with forest floor mulch.
sawdust packs down very quick, so considere that a no go.
I THINK chainsaw chips, with a bit of forest floor mulch is the best, but when it comes down to it I dont think the kakariki mind at all...
We have 1 female at the moment, who spent ages throwing the shavings out, then we out in chips, she thru those out and is sitting on eggs on bare wood. This is the only time this has happened. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
